friday funnies - or not

I know I've just totally plagiarized the "friday funnies" title from Laurie, but she inspired me...and she's way funnier than me, so I don't think I'm stealing any thunder here or anything.

I started this post on Tuesday thinking the list would create itself. In the end, I only came up with three things to include, which I happen to think are funny...but also happen to have been said by ME.

  • "These guys are NOT Pennsylvania Dutch." (okay, well, this was me quoting something I read on the Internet, but still...)
  • "Let's review the technical definition of homelessness, shall we?"
  • "I'm reading this book that keeps making me think of you; it's called 'Don't Waste Your Life'."
I'm not even sure if they're funny. I mean...I think they were at the time...but when you look back on the funniest moments of the week, that you can actually remember (by the way, how DO you do that Laurie?), shouldn't there be some sort of warning light that goes off when they're all quotes of yourself?

Wow! I have inspired blog-imitation.

It makes me happy that I was there for the "Pennsylvania Dutch" comment. Well, not exactly there, but part of the conversation. :)

Dovie,
Maintaining the standards of the Friday Funnies is incredibly difficult. You'll notice the entry this time is actually a bit weak. It's hard to gather quality material. It helps to spend a lot of time with someone who is consistently funny. My muse, if you will, is Troy. The vast majority of Friday Funnies come from him. I only have two rules for the Friday Funnies: 1)I must be present when the comment is made and 2)My own funny comments do not qualify, unless accompanied by someone else's funny comments.

I actually find myself thinking about my blog far too much. I write down the funny things said during the week so I can remember them by Friday.

There is my discourse on the Friday Funnies. I think this could be classified as a parasite blog entry.

I'm reading "Don't Waste Your Life" too. It's hard to choose between watching TV or reading the book sometime. So far, I'm on page 88 and I've watched every episode of Project Runway.

I am glad I am amusing enough to be a muse.
